粟島でアプリを実地テストしました — 岩船港からのフェリーで出船モードを記録した約3分の動画を公開
2026年9月12日、開発者が新潟県の粟島へアプリの実地テストに行きました。朝6時半に新潟市を出発し、岩船港8時発の粟島汽船フェリーに乗船。出港前に出船モードの記録を開始し、島に着くまでの約1時間20分を計器と航跡で記録しました。島ではレンタル自転車で海岸を回って釣り場を探し、帰港後は岩船港で18時過ぎまでショアジギング。魚は一匹も釣れませんでしたが、アプリのテスト結果は良好で、いくつか改善したい点も見つかりました。その一日をアプリのマスコットが解説する約3分の動画を公式YouTubeチャンネルで公開しました（英語ナレーション・英語字幕つき）。

動画で紹介していること
- フェリーの上で出船モード — 岩船港を出てすぐの画面は14.2ノット・進行方向 北西・水深16m。経過時間と距離が進み、航跡が地図に描かれていきます。1時間後には29km・水深81mに。すべてスマートフォンのGPSと、地図の出典データから表示しています。
- 地図のお知らせと出典 — 水深の出典（GEBCO）や海上保安庁のレイヤなど、地図に関するお知らせは画面から1タップで確認できます。
- 粟島の釣果マップ — 到着後に開いた釣果マップには、粟島周辺の釣果はまだありませんでした。最初の1件を記録するのはあなたかもしれません。
- 釣行ログ — 帰港後に確認した釣行ログには、1時間22分・35.6km・最高16.5ノット・平均14.1ノットの航跡が保存されていました。地図をタップすると岩船港から粟島までの航跡を全画面で見られます。航跡は端末内にのみ保存され、ファイルに書き出して機種変更のときに引き継げます。
- 島の一日 — フェリーからの海、粟島の港、レンタル自転車で回った岩場の海岸。釣果はゼロでしたが、天候に恵まれた一日でした。
※ 出船モードは釣りのための参考情報であり、航海用ではありません。航行には海上保安庁の海図と最新の水路通報・航行警報をご利用ください。水深は GEBCO にもとづくおおよその参考値で、データのある海域でのみ表示されます。航跡と釣行ログはお使いの端末内にのみ保存されます。出船モードは Gold 以上の会員ランクでご利用いただけます（詳しくは使い方ガイド「出船モード」）。
制作について
スマートフォンの画面はすべて当日の実機のスクリーンショットで、加工していません（画面上部のステータスバーと下部のナビゲーションバーだけを切り落としています）。港・フェリー・島の写真と動画も当日の実撮影です。一方、右側の解説の声はAI音声合成で、マスコットはアプリに同梱している表情イラストをそのまま使っています。動画の生成手順はコードとして残しており、同じ素材から同じ動画を作り直せます。

On September 12, 2026, the developer took World Fishing Map on a field test to Awashima, a small island off Niigata, Japan. Leaving Niigata City at 6:30 in the morning for the 8:00 Awashima Kisen ferry from Iwafune Port, he started a Boat Mode recording before departure and logged the roughly 80-minute crossing with the instruments and the track. On the island he rented a bicycle to look for fishing spots along the coast, and after the ferry back he tried shore jigging at Iwafune until after 6 p.m. Not a single fish was caught — but the app test went well, and a few things to improve came to light. The whole day is narrated by the app's mascot in a three-minute video, now live on our official YouTube channel (English narration with English captions).

What the video covers
- Boat Mode on the ferry — right after leaving Iwafune Port the screen reads 14.2 knots, heading north-west, 16 metres of water. Elapsed time and distance keep counting while the track draws itself on the map; one hour in, it is 29 km and 81 metres of water. Everything comes from the phone's GPS and the map's source data.
- Map notices and sources — the depth source (GEBCO), the Japan Coast Guard layers and the other map notices are one tap away.
- The catch map at Awashima — after landing, the catch map showed no catches around Awashima yet. The first one could be yours.
- The trip log — back on shore, the trip log held the crossing: 1 h 22 min, 35.6 km, top speed 16.5 knots, average 14.1 knots. Tap the map to see the whole track from Iwafune to Awashima in full screen. Tracks stay on your device only and can be exported to a file, so they come with you when you change phones.
- A day on the island — the sea from the ferry, Awashima's port, and the rocky coast seen from a rental bicycle. Zero fish, but a beautiful day.
Boat Mode is reference information for fishing, not for navigation. Use Japan Coast Guard charts and the latest notices to mariners and navigational warnings for navigation. Depth is an approximate reference value from GEBCO, shown only where data is available. Tracks and trip logs are stored only on your device. Boat Mode is available on Gold and above (see the User Guide: Boat Mode).
How it was made
Every phone screen in the video is a real screenshot taken on the day and has not been altered — we only cropped the status bar at the top and the navigation bar at the bottom. The photos and footage of the port, the ferry and the island were also shot on the day. The narration on the right, however, is a synthetic AI voice, and the mascot uses the expression illustrations bundled in the app, unchanged. The video is generated by code, so the same footage always produces the same video.
