さらに200種へ「生息イメージ」のイラストを追加しました（合計694種）
魚図鑑のイラストは、種によって「白背景版」と「生息イメージ版」の2枚を用意しています。前回の200種に続いて、今回はさらに200種に生息イメージ版を追加しました。2枚立てになった種は合計694種です。収録種数は約2,940種のままで、種の追加はありません。
アプリの魚図鑑での表示イメージ。日本語・英語どちらの表示にも対応しています。イラストは左右にスワイプ（Web版はイラスト下の左右ボタン）で白背景版と切り替えられます。生息イメージ版がまだ用意できていない種は、これまでどおり白背景版の1枚だけを表示します。
前回は日本の定番魚、今回は「世界」と「魚以外」
前回はマダイ・ブリ・ヒラメといった日本の釣りの主役を優先しました。今回はそこから範囲を広げ、世界のビッグゲーム・海外の淡水大型魚・サメやエイ・イカやタコや貝など、白背景の1枚だけでは暮らしぶりが伝わりにくい種を選んでいます。岩穴から触角を伸ばすエビ、沈木の間を泳ぐ川の大型魚、地形の無い青一色の中を進むマグロ――背景が変わると、同じ魚でも見え方がかなり変わります。
今回追加したおもな種
- 外洋のビッグゲーム（25種） — タイセイヨウクロマグロ・ミナミマグロ・タイセイヨウマグロ・コシナガ・スマ、シロカジキ・ニシマカジキ・フウライカジキ、イソマグロ・スギ・オオサワラ・ヨコシマサワラなど。地形を描かない深い青の中に置きました。
- ハタ・フエダイのリーフゲーム（25種） — アラ・シロアマダイ・ヤイトハタ・アカマダラハタ・ユカタハタ・コクハンアラ、アオチビキ・バラフエダイ・センネンダイ・ウメイロ・ハマフエフキ、そして「Atlantic goliath grouper」「Cubera snapper」「Dusky grouper」など海外の大型ハタ類。
- 世界の淡水大型魚・郷土魚（45種） — アムールイトウ・ドナウイトウ・ムベンガ・レッドテールキャットフィッシュ・ヘラチョウザメ・ジャイアントパヤラ、ビワマス・ビワコオオナマズ・ニゴロブナ・ワタカ・ゼニタナゴ・オヤニラミ・オショロコマといった日本の郷土魚、さらに「Murray cod」「White sturgeon」「Tambaqui」など。
- 日本と世界の定番食用魚・身近な釣魚（50種） — アオハタ・アコウダイ・アオダイ・ヒメダイ・ムツ・マナガツオ・ホシガレイ・アカシタビラメ・カナガシラ・オニオコゼ・マフグ・シラウオ・アオギス・オオニベなど。「European eel」「Atlantic halibut」「Turbot」「European hake」といった欧州の食卓の魚も含みます。
- イカ・タコ・甲殻類・貝（20種） — ニシキエビ・ミナミイセエビ・ヨーロッパイセエビ・アメリカイセエビ・ヨーロッパロブスター・ヨーロッパアカザエビ・オニテナガエビ、エゾアワビ・アカアワビ・イタヤガイ・ヨーロッパホタテガイ・ヨーロッパヒラガキ、トラフコウイカ・オーストラリアアオリイカなど。
- サメ・エイ（20種） — マオナガ・ウシザメ・レモンザメ・ヨゴレ・ツマグロ・ネムリブカ・オグロメジロザメ・ホシザメ・ドチザメ・トンガリサカタザメなど。恐怖を煽る演出ではなく、生態が伝わる自然な姿で描いています。
- 水族館の人気者・特徴的な姿（15種） — ウシマンボウ・オーストラリアハイギョ・モンガラカワハギ・ニジハギ・ヒレナガハギ・ハタタテダイ・フエヤッコダイ・ハマクマノミ・ハナビラクマノミなど。釣りの対象ではありませんが、図鑑を眺める楽しさのために加えました。

Encyclopedia illustrations come in two versions — a plain one and an in-habitat one. Following the first 200 species, this update adds in-habitat artwork for 200 more. 694 species now have both. No species were added — the encyclopedia still covers about 2,940.
How species look in the app encyclopedia — available in both Japanese and English. Swipe the illustration left or right to switch versions (on the web, use the arrow buttons below it). Species without in-habitat artwork simply show the single plain illustration, exactly as before.
Last time it was Japan's favourites. This time it is the wider world — and the animals that are not fish
The first batch went to the mainstays of Japanese angling: red sea bream, Japanese amberjack, olive flounder. This update widens the net to the world's big game, freshwater giants abroad, sharks and rays, and squid, octopus, crustaceans and shellfish — species whose way of life a plain illustration cannot really convey. A lobster with its antennae out of a crevice, a river giant among sunken timber, a tuna in nothing but blue: the background changes how the animal reads.
What this update covers
- Open-ocean big game (25) — Atlantic bluefin tuna, Blackfin tuna and Dogtooth tuna; Black marlin, Atlantic blue marlin, Atlantic white marlin and Atlantic sailfish; Cobia, King mackerel, Golden trevally and Roosterfish, all set against deep blue water with no terrain in frame.
- Groupers and snappers of the reef (25) — Atlantic goliath grouper, Cubera snapper and Dusky grouper; Saw-edged perch, White horsehead tilefish, Green jobfish, Two-spot red snapper, Emperor Snapper and Spangled emperor; plus the Common dentex and Sheepshead.
- Freshwater giants and regional fish (45) — Mongolian taimen, Huchen, Giant tigerfish, Redtail catfish, American paddlefish, Giant payara, Assam mahseer, Murray cod, White sturgeon, Tambaqui and Speckled peacock bass; plus Japan's own Biwa salmon, Giant lake Biwa catfish, Nigorobuna, Wataka, Tokyo bitterling, Aucha perch and Dolly Varden.
- Everyday food and sport fish, in Japan and abroad (50) — Yellow grouper, Japanese snapper, Lavender jobfish, Gnomefish, Pomfret, Spotted halibut, Red tonguesole, Redwing searobin, Devil stinger, Purple puffer, Japanese icefish, Smallscale whiting and Japanese meagre; plus the European eel, Atlantic halibut, Turbot and European hake.
- Squid, octopus, crustaceans and shellfish (20) — Ornate spiny lobster, Southern rock lobster, European spiny lobster, Caribbean spiny lobster, European lobster, Norway lobster and Giant river prawn; Ezo abalone, Blacklip abalone, Japanese scallop, Great scallop and European flat oyster; Pharaoh cuttlefish and Southern reef squid.
- Sharks and rays (20) — Thresher shark, Bull shark, Sharptooth Lemon Shark, Silvertip Shark and Galapagos Shark; Starspotted smooth-hound, Banded houndshark, Spiny dogfish, Small-spotted catshark, Whitespotted wedgefish and Thornback ray. Drawn as animals going about their lives, not as monsters.
- Aquarium favourites and striking shapes (15) — Giant sunfish, Australian lungfish, French Angelfish, Big-spotted Trigger-fish, Blue Banded Surgeonfish, Sailfin Surgeonfish, Bannerfish, Tomato Clownfish and Pink Skunk Clownfish. Not angling targets, but part of the pleasure of browsing the encyclopedia.
