シイラとシルバーアロワナの図鑑イラストを差し替えました
クローズドテストにご参加いただいているみなさまから、魚図鑑のイラストが実際の魚の特徴と違うのではないかというご指摘をいただきました。確認したところ、たしかにご指摘のとおりでした。シイラとシルバーアロワナの2種について、新しく描き直したイラストに差し替えましたのでお知らせします。
気づいて、わざわざ知らせてくださったこと。本当にありがとうございます。魚を見る目を持った方に見ていただけているのだと、あらためて実感しました。

どこを直したか
- シイラ（Coryphaena hippurus） — 旧イラストは背びれの伸び方と頭の形がシイラらしくなく、別の回遊魚のようにも見えていました。新しいイラストでは、頭のすぐ後ろから尾の近くまで背中いっぱいに続く長い背びれ、雄の切り立った額、そして金色から青緑へと移る体色と青い斑点を描き直しています。
- シルバーアロワナ（Osteoglossum bicirrhosum） — 旧イラストは体高が高く、アジアアロワナに近い体型になっていました。新しいイラストでは、リボンのように細長い体と、尾に向かって長く続く背びれ・尻びれ、上を向いた口と下あごの2本のひげ、銀色に淡いピンクが差す体色という、この魚らしい姿にしています。
魚図鑑は、みなさんと一緒に育てていきます
世界釣りマップの魚図鑑は、現在約2,600種を収録しています。分類や名称は GBIF のデータで機械的に照合し、イラストは1種ずつ描き下ろしていますが、これだけの種数になると、私ひとりの目ではどうしても見落としが出てしまいます。今回のように釣り人の目で「これは違う」と気づいてもらえることが、図鑑の精度をいちばん確実に上げてくれます。
おかしなイラストや解説を見つけたら、ぜひ教えてください。アプリのメニューから「報告・お問い合わせ」で送っていただけます（魚種名を書き添えていただけると助かります）。いただいた指摘はひとつずつ確認して、直したものはこのお知らせでご報告していきます。世界中の魚が並ぶ図鑑を、みんなで少しずつ育てていけたら、こんなに嬉しいことはありません。
ご注意
- アプリでは、図鑑の画面を開き直すと新しいイラストが表示されます。この Web の魚図鑑では、以前に表示した画像がブラウザに残っていることがあります（その場合はページの再読み込みで新しいイラストになります）。
- 解説の一部は AI による下書きで、順次見直しを進めています。魚種の同定や食用可否・毒の有無などは、安全のため必ず実物・専門家の確認をお願いします。
- 名称・分類データは GBIF を出典としています。図鑑のイラストの著作権は世界釣りマップに帰属します。無断転載・二次利用はご遠慮ください。
Testers taking part in our closed test let us know that some encyclopedia illustrations did not match the real fish. They were right. We have redrawn and replaced the illustrations for two species: Mahi-mahi (シイラ) and the Silver arowana.

How the replaced illustrations look in the app — available in both Japanese and English.
What we corrected
- Mahi-mahi (Coryphaena hippurus) — in the old illustration the dorsal fin and the shape of the head were not right, and the fish could be mistaken for a different pelagic species. The new artwork restores the long dorsal fin that runs from just behind the head almost to the tail, the steep forehead of a male, and the gold-to-blue-green body with its scattering of blue spots.
- Silver arowana (Osteoglossum bicirrhosum) — the old illustration had a deep body closer to an Asian arowana. The new artwork shows this fish as it really is: a long, ribbon-like body with dorsal and anal fins extending far back toward the tail, the upward-facing mouth with two barbels on the lower jaw, and silver scales flushed with pale pink.
Growing the encyclopedia together
The World Fishing Map encyclopedia now covers about 2,600 species. Names and taxonomy are matched against GBIF data, and every illustration is drawn species by species — but at this scale, my own eyes alone will inevitably miss things. Feedback from anglers who know these fish is by far the most reliable way to make the encyclopedia better, exactly as it was this time.
If you spot an illustration or a description that looks wrong, please tell us — use "Report / Contact" in the app menu (mentioning the species name helps a lot). We check every report one by one, and we will keep announcing the fixes here. Building an encyclopedia of the world's fish, a little at a time and together with you, is exactly what we hoped for.

- In the app, reopening the encyclopedia screen shows the new illustrations. On this website, a previously viewed image may still be cached by your browser — reload the page to see the new artwork.
- Some descriptions are AI-generated drafts that we are reviewing over time. For safety, always confirm identification and edibility/toxicity with the real specimen or an expert.
