魚図鑑を約2,600種に拡充しました
魚図鑑に新たに90種を追加し、収録数が合計約2,600種になりました。今回は、シシャモやコマイ・ホテイウオといった北日本・北太平洋の沿岸魚介類を中心に、中東チグリス・ユーフラテス水系の大型コイ科やナマズ、シベリア・モンゴルの渓流サケ科、アフリカ・南米の淡水ゲームフィッシュ、オーストラリアやニュージーランドの磯魚まで、世界各地の仲間を描き下ろしています。

新たに加わったおもな仲間
- 北日本・北太平洋の沿岸魚介類 — 北海道の川で生まれる本物の「シシャモ」、鍋物で親しまれる「コマイ」「ホテイウオ」、珍味の「ウチワエビ」、イカ類の「ドスイカ」「アカイカ」など。
- 中東・ユーラシアの淡水魚 — チグリス・ユーフラテス水系の大型コイ科やナマズ、シベリア・モンゴルの渓流を代表するレノックやグレイリング、アムールパイクなど。
- アフリカ・南米の淡水ゲームフィッシュ — アマゾンの象徴「シルバーアロワナ」や、アフリカのディスティコドゥス・スネークヘッドなど、個性豊かな仲間。

We have added 90 more species to the Fish Encyclopedia, bringing the total to about 2,600 species. This update centers on coastal species of northern Japan and the North Pacific — such as the shishamo smelt, saffron cod and smooth lumpsucker — alongside large cyprinids and catfish of the Middle East's Tigris–Euphrates basin, mountain-stream salmonids of Siberia and Mongolia, freshwater game fish of Africa and South America, and reef fish of Australia and New Zealand, each illustrated one by one.

What's new
- Coastal species of northern Japan and the North Pacific — the true shishamo smelt spawned in Hokkaido's rivers, the saffron cod and smooth lumpsucker enjoyed in hot pots, the prized fan lobster, and squids such as the schoolmaster gonate and neon flying squid.
- Freshwater fish of the Middle East and Eurasia — large cyprinids and catfish of the Tigris–Euphrates basin, and stream salmonids of Siberia and Mongolia such as the lenok, graylings and Amur pike.
- Freshwater game fish of Africa and South America — the iconic Silver arowana of the Amazon, along with African distichodus and snakeheads.
- Reef fish of Australia and New Zealand — the popular rock-fishing target Black drummer, plus a variety of wrasses and trumpeters.
