魚図鑑を約2,300種に拡充しました
魚図鑑に新たに95種を追加し、収録数が合計約2,300種になりました。今回は、北太平洋のメバル科（Sebastes）・カレイ目・ベラ科を中心とした日本近海/北米の魚介類から、南アフリカのタイ科・ゴンベ科近縁種、南米の淡水ゲームフィッシュまで、幅広い海域の釣り・観察対象を描き下ろしています。

新たに加わったおもな仲間
- サンゴ礁の伝説 — 「ナポレオンフィッシュ」の愛称で知られる大型ベラ、メガネモチノウオ。国際的に保護対象となっている希少種です。
- 北太平洋のメバル科（Sebastes） — アラスカメヌケ、ヒレグロメヌケなど、日本近海のメバル類と同じ属の北米・ベーリング海の仲間7種。
- 南アフリカの磯魚 — 日本のイシダイ・イシガキダイと同じ属のケープナイフジョーなど、タイ科・ゴンベ科近縁の南アフリカ沿岸魚。
- 南米の淡水ゲームフィッシュ — コロンビアの人気スポーツフィッシュ「ドラーダ」、アフリカの大型捕食魚コーニッシュジャックなど。

We have added 95 more species to the Fish Encyclopedia, bringing the total to about 2,300 species. This update centers on rockfish (Sebastes), flatfish, and wrasses from the North Pacific and coastal Japan, and also brings in South African relatives of Japan's prized knifejaws and seabreams, along with freshwater gamefish from South America — each illustrated one by one.

What's new
- A coral reef legend — the Humphead wrasse, also known as "Napoleon fish," a giant and internationally protected reef species.
- North Pacific rockfish (Sebastes) — seven species including the Pacific ocean perch and shortraker rockfish, close relatives of the rockfish found around Japan.
- South African reef fish — the Cape knifejaw, a relative of Japan's prized Ishidai and Ishigakidai knifejaws, along with South African seabream species.
- South American freshwater gamefish — Colombia's popular sportfish the Dorada, and Africa's powerful predator the Cornish jack.
