Question whats your thoughts,,,, global warming perhaps,, who knows

as a small continuation of my thread re barra in bribie,,, the amount of reports that are floating about re barra being caught and more current,,, barra being found dead is becoming more than a simple case of coincidence

normally,,, barra south of the mary river was always a myth,,, or a case of too many ales,,, but now,,, we are reading/hearing reports that barra are being found floating upside down in waterways that you would never dream about,,,, the main reason why there dying off is the recent cold snap,,,, so it seems

the barra in my report WAS confirmed,,,, it had a small gash along its flank that was probably caused by a prop,,, but it was landed via a net in pumicestone passage,,, and weighed at a local tackle store

the capture of so many stalk eyed swimmers in a location that i have never ever heard off them being caught before,,, and confirmation that they do inhabit our waters but are a rarely seen or heard off where they were caught still has me baffled,,,,, why,,, cause i was the one who caught em,,, all bucks etc etc etc

most of the reports i read from local waters are relating to catches that are not predominant at this time of year

blue swimmers in pumicestone,,,,, i haven't been out once this winter and not caught them,,,, most i admit,,, are under size,,, but are full,,,,

flatties,,,, abnormally quite,,,,, bream,, holding there own,,,,,squire are about in abundance as per tailor,,,, and the list goes on

to me,,, someone who has lived on bribie for the past 18 odd years or so,,, its queer,,,, something is definitley happening,,,, theres been bugger all rain for the past year or two,,, and theres been a lot of ""unusual"" catches,,, or should i say ""out of season""

whats been happening in your area???????????

We have had an odd season also in the Pilbara! Whereas we have always had Barra and Mudcrabs, they have hung around alot longer than usual, especially the Muddies who usually step aside for the blue swimers in the winter! And also, only 3 weeks ago there was a 3 meter croc hanging around! We do get the odd unconfirmed croc sighting every year but usually in summer.
Dunno whats going on!
