Viewing map - Zoom function??

Every time I go to view map and try to zoom in onto any part it tells me that this function is not available for that region. Well it is Australia and in particular Queensland I'm trying to zoom in on yet it will not work. I don't know what your meant to see but I just ain't seeing it - I thought it was as basic as point and zoom?? Please help!!

Zoom

It should be working fine - there will be a message saying 'sorry this area is not available' when you try to zoom very close into areas that are not covered with close-up satellite photography, but if you zoom out by one step at a time the error message will eventually go away.

Only a few areas in Queensland do not have close photography. Try a capital city first as the cities all have excellent coverage and that way you will know if your system is working the map correctly.

I'm a Mac user, does this affect the function of the map. It will not let me zoom it what so ever. The picture of Australia basically stays the same size, no change then when you put it at a zoom level to far in that message comes up.

Mac

I suspect the Mac is the issue as no one else has reported this problem.
