Is the money from fishing licences in NSW being spent properly.I say most is but some areas seem to be over looked.From last reports we in the Illawarra have 13 pro fisherman on the lake . This is a lake that for the first time in donkeys years had no prawn run last Christmas. I know the lake is getting a peminent opening soon , but with so many pro's how will it recover ?I am not having a go at the pro's but at the system.

It does sound like a lot of pros for one lake. Problem with licences is that it is another tax when governments are awash with GST dollars but are spending this mostly on public service pay increases - that's not me saying this, this was the finding of an official report. That's why I object to "user pays" licences because we are already paying.

Well after a long time the Lake Illawarra entrance is near complete and the entrance is open due to the latest rain.
Already the fishing has turned around.
A whisper I heard is small jewfish and no-one I have spoken too has ever heard of jewfish in the lake , I just hope that my licence money is put to work in the local area
