Notch Point

Hi all,

I am heading to Notch Point (on the coast east of Ilbilbie, Central Qld) this weekend to camp and fish with the family (Wife and 2.5 year old son) Just wondering if anybody has any knowledge or hot spots for around this area. The creeks on the map look good and planning on putting in a few crab pots. any info. is welcome. Cheers in advance.

don't know to much about Notch point. However looks like your near an area i plan to visit 1770 and was wondering if you have any info for me ie any fishing but mostly the rivers around the area ive got a 4.2m and she will go anywhere so not fussed in venturing the many rivers and going a little offshore hope you can help sorry i cant

G'day Ace,

I've been to 1770 a few times but not to fish, We went there to go surfing mainly. I think the markers on the map look like the go. Surely there would be the odd pelagic cruising around the headland. I've never tried the creeks. Hope ya catch a good feed.

PS. The Agnes Tavern's a Beauty, Be sure to call in for a feed and stubbie.

Notch Point was great, Camp site was superb, like camping in your back yard under the coconut trees, the cattle keep the grass mowed. Pitty about the yobbo's who think it's alright to leave there rubbish scattered all over the place.

(it's only a matter of time until they(council?) close access totally, Half the beach is closed already because of people driving all over the dunes) We filled up a couple of big garbage bags full of other pricks rubbish.
Anyhow....The creeks have a huge amount of run, still managed to get 4 bucks and a nice samon. I would recomend going there on small tides. Also a fair few shoals and islands out to sea but didn't get a chance to head out, way to rough. When are you heading to 1770? Hope the weather comes good soon!!
