Help add every rockbar, reef, wreck, boat ramp and bait shop and create the world's best free fishing map. Charter boats and lodges can be added too.

The power of this web site is that users can leave markers on the zoomable satellite image of the earth.

This map will ultimately provide an invaluable pool of fishing information. We don't expect you to give away secrets, but we do ask you to find 10 minutes to add useful markers in your area. Every fisherman has valuable local knowledge to contribute.

Because this map is new, much information is missing. Don't get frustrated - make a contribution!

Contributors will be put in a regular prize draw for fishing DVDs and lure packs. Prizes will be announced on the forum on this web site.

Instructions

Zoom in and out of the map and move direction using the slider and direction controls on the left. You can also grab the map with the cursor by holding the left mouse button down and moving the mouse. Find your country, state, local area and then your fishing spot.

Centre the map and get the Lat Long of your place of interest by clicking on the spot, preferably when zoomed in close.

Once zoomed to a suitable level you can read people's markers or just look at the lay of the land or sea. The amount of detail varies and is being constantly upgraded.

Adding Elements

You must be registered to see the Add Elements link. Click Add Elements to place a marker of your own. Add Elements will take you to new page.

A choice of element markers are provided. Please name each feature and put the state and country in the title field. The rest is optional - you can add more text and a link to a picture of your marker as well as a link to a web page or forum topic about the feature or event. Please get permission from external web sites before linking to them.

You can add an extra element next to an existing marker if you feel the first one is inadequate - Admin may eventually merge the information from duplicate markers on the same feature, giving credit to all authors involved.

When you have added your Element you will be directed back to the main map - if you want to add another element marker click Add Elements again.

You can record a trophy catch or other fishing event using the Trophy Catch Event marker.

At this stage elements can not be edited except by Admin. This will be changed shortly. To report an error or problem marker email fishfindermaps@gmail.com

Spam and advertising

The Administrator will allow URLs to bait shop and charter boat web sites if these registered members have contributed at least 20 useful markers to the map. All spam will be removed and the respective member deleted.
